Island Nursing and Rehab Center’s Family Council is comprised of the family/friends of Long Term Care Residents who take an active role in voicing their concerns and advocate for the residents. The purpose of the Family Council is to advocate and improve the quality of life at the nursing home by providing the families a platform to voice concerns and participate in the decision making process. The Family Council serves as a forum where families/friends can connect with one another for support, learning and advocacy. These meetings are attended by the Administrator/CEO, Assistant Administrator, Director of Nursing, Director of Social Work, Director of Recreation and other departments as needed. The meetings are held monthly, except for the summer months, and speakers are invited to inform the participants about pertinent topics that affect the daily activities of the residents. The meetings are held in the Therapeutic Recreation Room and announcements are posted in the elevators. If you are interested in participating in the Family and Friends Meeting please leave your contact information with the Receptionist or speak to Lisa Cirami, Director of Social Work.
